Values
EB Nutrition is founded on core principles and values that guide every aspect of my practice.
Use this page as a guide to help you decide if I'm the right fit for you.
Doing No Harm with Kindness and Compassion
I commit to non-harming practices. To reach the most beneficial outcome, the work I undertake will always inflict the least harm possible.
My ethical decision-making process in nutritional treatment considers the effects of harm very seriously. Short-term and long-term harm, though unintentional, often accompany the difficult task of breaking down and working through nutritional issues. This can be in the form of temporarily engaging in a burdensome elimination diet to find your dietary triggers, or encouraging you to seek psychological support to face the internal biases or traumas that affect your relationship with food.
I recognise that eating is much more than what we put in our mouths; getting to the roots can be a painful process. I am honoured to guide you through this with all my warmth and support.
Staying Humble, Learning Often, and Respecting Individuality
I'm the first to admit it's almost impossible to be on the forefront of all evolutions in nutrition science.
I do my absolute best to keep ahead of the curve within my special focus areas: Plant-Based Nutrition, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Eating Disorders, and Health at Every Size®. Despite my best efforts, I'm regularly given new information when speaking with my clients. It's my pledge to you that I will always research your query. If your concern is not within my area of expertise, I will point you in the direction of someone who can handle your request.
I also acknowledge that you are the expert of your own body, and will work with you to find patterns and reasons behind your food intolerance reactions, even when they don't fit into conventional moulds.
Bringing Joy, Hope, and Humour to Every Session
I strive to build authentic connections with my clients, where laughter and smiles are encouraged, and even the most difficult decisions come with an air of hope.
Providing Evidence-Based Care
The advice and resources given to you will always be supported by valid science. At EB Nutrition, you can be confident that you are being provided with strategies that are backed up by proven results.
Health At Every Size* Principles:

-
Weight Inclusivity: Accept and respect the inherent diversity of body shapes and sizes and reject the idealizing or pathologizing of specific weights.

-
Health Enhancement: Support health policies that improve and equalize access to information and services, and personal practices that improve human well-being, including attention to individual physical, economic, social, spiritual, emotional, and other needs.

-
Respectful Care: Acknowledge our biases, and work to end weight discrimination, weight stigma, and weight bias. Provide information and services from an understanding that socio-economic status, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, and other identities impact weight stigma, and support environments that address these inequities.

-
Eating for Well-being: Promote flexible, individualized eating based on hunger, satiety, nutritional needs, and pleasure, rather than any externally regulated eating plan focused on weight control.

-
Life-Enhancing Movement: Support physical activities that allow people of all sizes, abilities, and interests to engage in enjoyable movement, to the degree that they choose.
